This is the Call for Entries information for the 2000 Georgie Awards. Projects and products that were built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed between July 1 1999 and June 30, 2000 are eligible to enter.

OVERALL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

41. Best Residential Development in B.C.
Projects eligible for this category must have completed at least the first phase of the project or (in the case of a single-family development) at least 20% of the units.

Criteria
Eligible entries for this category must enter a minimum of one product category (Categories 1 - 9). The award will be determined by the accumulation of points by winning either Gold and Silver Awards in the listed categories and by an on-site visit by the judges of all Silver award winning projects unless otherwise determined by the judging panel. Greater emphasis and more points will be awarded for Design and Construction, Environment, Customer Service and Landscaping.

In addition, good site design principals, based on a review of the site plan, will be considered.

Total accumulated points are calculated by the following categories:

A. All points awarded in:
1. Best Single Family Detached Home Under 1,800 Sq. Ft.;
2. Best Single Family Detached Home 1,800 - 2,999 Sq. Ft.;
3. Best Single Family Detached Home 3,000 - 4,199 Sq. Ft.;
4. Best Single Family Detached Home 4,200 Sq. Ft. and over.;
5. Best Townhouse Development Under 1,500 Sq. Ft.;
6. Best Townhouse Development 1,500 Sq. Ft. and over;
7. Best Low-Rise Development;
8. Best High-Rise Development;
9. Best Mixed Use Development.

B. All Silver and Gold points awarded in:
15. Best Single Family Landscape Design (New or Renovation);
16. Best Multi-family Landscape Design (New or Renovation);
23. Best Logo for a Project or Corporate Identity;
24. Best Outdoor Advertising/Signage;
25. Best Brochure for a Project (Under $25,000);
26. Best Brochure for a Project ($25,000 and over);
27. Best Advertisement/Print - Black & White or Colour;
28. Best Marketing Campaign;
29. Best Website;
30. Best On-site Sales Office (Under 1,000 Sq. Ft.);
31. Best On-site Sales Office (Over 1,000 Sq. Ft.);
35. Best Technical Innovation by a Builder, Renovator, Designer, Subtrade, Supplier or Manufacturer;
37. Outstanding Consideration to Environmental Awareness;
38. Excellence by Local Government in Cooperation/Leadership With Industry;
39.Customer Service Award.

Requirements

  • Entry Form.
  • Two (2) copies of audio-visual material of project on 3/4" video cassette tapes.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print.

GRAND GEORGIE AWARDS

42. Best Residential Renovator in B.C.

Criteria

10. Best Residential Renovation Under $75,000;

13. Best Kitchen (Renovation);
14. Best Master Suite (Renovation).

15. Best Single Family Landscape Design (New or Renovation);

19. Best Room or Feature (New or Renovation);
22. Best Interior Merchandising for a Custom Home or Renovation;

44. Best Home Builder in B.C. (Large Volume - Over 25 Units)
