This is the Call for Entries information for the 2000 Georgie Awards. Projects and products that were built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000 are eligible to enter.

SALES AND MARKETING

23. Best Logo for a Project or Corporate Identity

Criteria
Entry will be judged on graphics, concept, overall design and execution, and message communicated.

Requirements

  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe the logo and how it meets the criteria for this category (in no more than 150 words).
  • Six (6) 35mm colour horizontal slides in triplicate of the following:
    - one (1) black and white logo;
    - one (1) colour logo;
    - four (4) logo adaptations (in ad, brochure, letterhead, promotional items, on-site signage, etc.).
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print of logo in use.
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder and Ad/Marketing Agency.

24. Best Outdoor Advertising/Signage

Criteria
Entry will be judged on all directional, site entry, and on-site signage. In addition, consideration will be given to any off-site outdoor advertising (billboards, etc.). Merit will be given to the package that has the greatest amount of visual appeal, readability, and innovative use of materials and colour.

Requirements
  • Entry form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe how the entry meets the above criteria (in no more than 150 words).
  • Six (6) 35mm colour horizontal slides in triplicate. May include any or all of the following:
    - directional signage;
    - main site signage;
    - model home signage;
    - permanent entry signage;
    - billboards/outdoor signage/advertising boarding.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print - best shot of signage.
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder and Ad/Marketing Agency.

25. Best Brochure for a Project (Under $25,000)

26. Best Brochure for a Project ($25,000 and Over)

Criteria (Categories 25 and 26)
Entry will be judged on effectiveness of conveying a theme, relaying information, copy and overall graphic design.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe the brochure and how it demonstrates the criteria for this category (in no more than 150 words).
  • One (1) 35mm colour slide of the brochure.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print.
  • Five (5) copies of original brochure and inserts, labelled on back with category number.
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder and Ad/Marketing Agency.

27. Best Advertisement/Print - Black and White or Colour

Criteria
Entry will be judged on creativity and execution of the advertisement's appeal to target market, visual appeal, message clarity, and creative concept.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe how the ad meets the above criteria, specifically detailing the project's target market, the creative platform, and the size of the ad typically ran in publications (in no more than 150 words).
  • One (1) 35mm colour horizontal slide of ad in triplicate.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print.
  • Two (2) copies of one ad mounted on 20" x 24" black mount board, with one tear sheet attached as proof of insertion.
  • If advertisement is not in English, please provide a translation.
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder and Ad/Marketing Agency.

32. Best Marketing Campaign

Criteria
The Entry will be judged on definition of marketing objectives and thematic relationships among advertising materials for a multi-media campaign (eg. newspaper, radio, magazine, T.V., direct mail, video, outdoor signage, displays, etc.)

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe your campaign and how it demonstrates the criteria for this category (in no more than 150 words).
  • Six (6) - 35mm colour horizontal slides representative of total campaign, in triplicate.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print.
  • Two (2) identical sets of the Marketing Campaign which could include copies each of newspaper ad(s), magazine ad(s), direct mail, collateral newsletter, etc., on separate black mount board 20"x24" with one (1) tear sheet attached as proof of insertion. A maximum of four (4) mount boards per set will be accepted.
  • Optional: Two (2) Audio cassettes of radio commercial labelled with project name and category number with proof of performance. Two (2) 3/4" video cassette tapes of television commercial labelled with project name and category number with proof of performance.
  • If any documentation is not in English, please provide a translation.
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder/Renovator and Ad/Marketing Agency.

29. Best Website

Criteria
Entries will be judged based on quality of design, ease of obtaining information and organization of message.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe your website and how it demonstrates the criteria for this category (in no more than 150 words).
  • One(1) complete print out of key website pages (i.e. home page, category pages etc.).
  • 35mm colour horizontal slides of key website pages in triplicate.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print of home page
*Up to 2 companies will be recognized. Unless otherwise requested on the entry form, this award will be presented to the Builder/Renovator and the Website Designer.

30. Best On-Site Sales Office (Under 1,000 Sq. Ft.)

31. Best On-Site Sales Office (Over 1,000 Sq. Ft.)

Criteria
Entry will be judged on the overall continuity and effectiveness of all elements used in the model homes and/or the sales office. The ability to characterize the lifestyle of the target market and communicate information to the prospective buyers will also be considered. As well, landscaping, signage, displays and model home merchandising and best use of available space in the sales office will be considered.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Marketing Statement/Project Description - Should describe your complex and/or on-site sales office and how it demonstrates the criteria for this category (in no more than 150 words).
  • Six (6) - 35mm colour horizontal slides of the following in triplicate:
    - exterior view of sales office with entrance;
    - overall interior view;
    - topographical table;
    - display area;
    - closing area;
    - 1 additional slide of your choice.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print - best shot of sales office.
  • Twelve (12) copies of the sales office floor plan on 8 1/2"x11" paper.
  • The cost of construction per square footage must be identified.
  • The cost of Sales Office Display Unit Elements must be identified.

32. Best Salesperson or Team in New Home Construction
All information must be based on newly constructed homes only; no listing commissions or resales can be accepted. Information submitted must be for the period between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000.

Criteria
Entry will be judged on salesmanship including enthusiasm, initiative, dedication, professional development and creativity in meeting challenges. Sales volume will be considered relative to the project, product, price and overall promotional budget.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Eight (8) collated sets on 8 1/2" x 11" paper of the following:
    Best Salesperson or Team Marketing Statement - Should describe how the individual(s) meets the criteria for this category (in no more than 300 words) using the form provided. Please attach any customer and/or builder testimonials or any other relevant supporting documentation.
  • One (1) 35mm colour horizontal slide of Salesperson or Team in triplicate.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print of Salesperson or Team.
*This award will be presented to the Salesperson or Team.

33. Best Marketing Person or Team in New Home Construction
All information must be based on newly constructed homes only. Information submitted must be for the period between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000.

Criteria
Entry will be judged on creation of innovative campaign(s) including integration of advertising, on-site presentation and sales aspects. Achievements will be considered relative to the project(s), product and overall promotional budget.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Eight (8) collated sets on 8 1/2"x11" paper of the following:
    Best Marketing Person/Team Marketing Statement - Should describe how the individual meets the criteria for this category (in no more than 300 words) using the form provided.
  • One (1) 35mm colour horizontal slide of Marketing Person or Team, in triplicate.
  • One (1) 8"x10" glossy colour photo print of Marketing Person or Team.

34. Best Salesperson or Team for Trade, Supplier or Associate Member

Information submitted must be for period between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000.

Criteria
Entry will be judged on salesmanship including enthusiasm, initiative, dedication, professional development and creativity in meeting challenges. Sales volumes will be considered relative to the product or service and overall promotional budget.

Requirements
  • Entry Form.
  • Eight (8) collated sets on 8 1/2"x11" paper of the following:
